Scrum Master

About the role

Ameris Bank is a purpose-driven company dedicated to bringing financial peace of mind to communities, one person at a time. The Scrum Master will help oversee scrum/kanban technology teams using Agile methodology best practices to ensure delivery success and good team morale. They act as a buffer between the scrum/kanban team and line of business/project management, maintaining a stable working environment by helping the team overcome obstacles impeding their success. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kanban/scrum team in using Agile methodology and kanban/scrum practices.
• Help the product owner and development team achieve customer satisfaction and deliver on key project activities and systems/software/hardware maintenance duties.
• Lead the kanban/scrum and development teams in self-organization.
• Remove impediments and coach the kanban/scrum team on removing impediments.
• Help the kanban/scrum and development teams identify and fill gaps in the Agile framework.
• Resolve conflicts and issues that occur.
• Help the kanban/scrum team achieve higher levels of kanban/scrum maturity.
• Support the product owner and provide education where needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of technology delivery experience required.
• Prior management experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Scaled Agile certification preferred.

Skills

• Prior experience leading technology teams via projects or direct reports.
• Ability to analyze and think quickly to resolve conflict.
• Knowledgeable in techniques to fill gaps in scrum/kanban.
• Experience with successful Agile techniques.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
• Self-motivation and ability to stay focused amid distraction.
