Screw Machine Operator
About the role
Reporting to the Screw Machine Department Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of screw machines used to machine precision metal components. The ideal candidate will ensure proper production levels are met while exercising a high attention to detail to verify quality standards. The role requires excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for light machine maintenance, strong mechanical aptitude for reading technical drawings, adjusting tooling, and diagnosing defective work. The Machine Operator will progress in knowledge to become self-reliant in the complete process of set-up, tool adjustment, and running parts to print. A continuous improvement mindset, high organization, clean workspace, and safety-first mentality are essential.
Schedule
4×10 schedule: Monday – Thursday, 4:50 AM – 3:20 PM
Responsibilities
- Effectively operate the machine and verify accuracy of parts produced
- Set-up, adjust, and operate multiple spindle automatic screw machines to machine a variety of standard parts to close tolerance and finish requirements
- Work cross-functionally with other stations
- Use calibrated precision measuring tools as necessary
- Assist with diagnosing tooling and operating difficulties
- Perform prescribed quality inspection on first and subsequent in-process pieces
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures, rules, and regulations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of warehouse or assembly work experience
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to use basic hand tools
