Screw Machine Operator

About the role
The Screw Machine Operator will safely manage screw machines, ensuring equipment functions efficiently during the machining processes. The individual will adjust settings as necessary to accommodate diverse materials and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Ensure production maintains accuracy and performance by adjusting tools precisely and configuring machine settings, such as speed and feed, based on material requirements.
- Regularly inspect output using measuring tools like calipers and gauges to ensure quality. Promptly address any defects or issues to minimize waste and maintain product integrity.
- Read and comprehensively understand job orders and technical documents to ensure precise and effective task execution.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Swiss Screw Machines, CNC Machines, or manual lathes.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure high-quality production and identify potential errors.
- Strong competency in using precision measuring instruments and tools relevant to quality assurance processes.
- Ability to read and understand job orders, specifications, and technical documents.
- Basic troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude to diagnose issues in machinery and tools.
- Thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant certifications, vocational training, or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.

Work Environment
This position involves working in a manufacturing environment adjacent to the shop floor. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, operating vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. Maintaining a high level of alertness and caution is essential.
Pay
$17.50 - $25.00 per hour
