About the role
This reliable, self-starting individual, as part of the Mueller team, is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal screens. This position reports to the Mueller Value Stream Leader. This role is onsite and is based in St. Pauls, NC.
Primary Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Lays out and marks reference points onto screen material (perforated and/or mesh material).
- Fits and assembles components by operating machines such as arbor presses, riveting press, brazing machine, and resistance welding machines to complete assembly.
- Spot welds components together.
- Participates in problem solving, training and Kaizen activities.
- Performs routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must have solid understanding of basic math.
- Must be able to read blueprints and tape measures.
- Must be able to follow routine instructions and then make sound judgments to perform the role safely.
- Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.
- Successfully established employment eligibility and satisfactorily completed background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience.
- 1+ years previous experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience with welding or cutting.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Working Conditions
- While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility.
- You will be required to work at the Company’s location in St. Pauls, NC.
- Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
- Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
