Screed Operator (Paving)

About the Role

Allan Myers is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Screed Operator to join our paving crew. In this role, you will operate the screed on an asphalt to ensure a smooth, level, and properly compacted surface. Your precision and attention to detail will directly impact the quality and durability of the finished pavement.

Responsibilities

• Operate screed equipment to control the thickness and smoothness of asphalt or concrete layers.
• Monitor material flow and make adjustments to ensure consistent paving results.
• Work closely with the paver operator and ground crew to ensure efficient and accurate paving operations.
• Read and interpret job specifications, blueprints, and grades.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of screed equipment.

Qualifications

• A GED / HS Diploma is a plus.
• Two years of equipment operating experience is a necessity.
• Related work experience is a necessity.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

• Make judgments regarding the most efficient operations of equipment and attachments.
• Must have very good hand, foot, and eye coordination to safely operate their equipment.
• Compliance with Allan Myers Policies including but not limited to: Equipment repair / maintenance procedures and Operator Safety Standards, Safety, Safety, Safety! “Home Safe Tonight” and related policies, “AIPS” Physical Demands.
