We are developing the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) as part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort, the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next-generation aircraft. This position is onsite at Bell’s Assembly Center in Amarillo, TX, near the airport.

About the role

Bring your experience and ideas to ensure timely delivery of supplies and materials. As the key interface for subcontract administration of major systems and complex components, you will support aircraft production, product upgrades, and new program development. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to drive cost reduction initiatives that enhance affordability and quality. This role involves close work with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and all organizations across Bell.

Responsibilities

• Execute standard purchasing procedures within an assigned commodity or supplier(s) to ensure timely delivery of supplies and materials.
• Handle negotiations, supplier data, cost breakdowns, and cross-functional collaboration with departments such as strategic supply chain, quality, engineering, and manufacturing.
• Exercise discretionary latitude within approved purchasing procedures and compliance for all contractual obligations.
• Interact and communicate with various internal customers.
• Obtain and furnish supplier data to other functional disciplines and SCM/IPT (Integrated Product Team) management.
• Maintain and manage an open order report for each supplier.
• Negotiate complex subcontracts, financial terms, contractual terms, technical terms, and conditions with major suppliers.
• Facilitate cost reduction initiatives by working closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
• Manage new supplier addition and qualification.
• Oversee purchase order management, competitive pricing adherence, inventory analysis, and new supplier qualification.
• Negotiate long-term agreements and contract packages exceeding TINA.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, engineering, program, finance, and other support teams to drive process improvement.
• Proactively mentor peers, understand challenges, and provide guidance.
• Monitor supply base risks, identify areas of improvement, and implement strategies to reduce risks.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for basic SCM purchasing activities, capable of training cross-functional team members.
• May lead special projects or serve as a key communication conduit for product assurance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Supply Chain preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, and/or contract experience.
• Experience with financial analysis, cost analysis of commodity/raw materials, and understanding of direct/indirect commodity pricing.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Understanding of FAR/DFAR guidelines.
• Highly analytical thinker with a strong ability to systematically study and learn complex information.
• Willingness to ask questions, perform research, and continually increase learning in government contracting and procurement.
• Positive, can-do attitude with self-motivation to find answers and solutions.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Passion for military and aerospace industries.
• Ability to travel up to 25% a year or as business needs dictate.
