About the role
We are searching for the best talent for a Scientist, Translational Oncology. This role is part of the Translational Research (TR) team within the Gastrointestinal Malignancies Disease Area Stronghold (GIM DAS).
Responsibilities
- Work closely with TR/biomarker and lab leads to plan, design, execute, and analyze experiments that advance project and DAS objectives.
- Independently perform and troubleshoot laboratory workflows to a high scientific standard, delivering high-quality data within established timelines.
- Communicate findings via clear data summaries and presentations to key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Maintain accurate, timely ELN/lab documentation in alignment with data integrity requirements.
- Cook up with external partners (e.g., CROs/vendors) to execute studies and/or generate reagents.
- Proactively seek new methods, learn emerging techniques, and apply insights to advance projects.
- Operate effectively in a matrixed environment by aligning priorities, proactively identifying risks, and enabling on-time delivery through strong collaboration and communication.
Requirements
- M.S. in a life science discipline with 3+ years of relevant industry experience or B.S. in a life sciences discipline with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven track record of research experience in solid tumor biology and signaling pathways is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience in a broad range of cell and molecular biology techniques, such as tissue culture, qPCR, immunoblotting, flow cytometry, ELISA, and cellular functional assays.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot complex experiments, applying sound scientific rigor and appropriate controls.
- Strong planning and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation (e.g., ELN/lab notebooks), preparation of summaries, and effective presentation of data.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a matrix team environment.
