About the role
We are seeking a creative, self-motivated, and collaborative Contractor/Scientist III to join the Department of Immunology. The selected candidate will contribute to groundbreaking research focusing on understanding the role of intracellular pathways in immune cell phenotype, migration to tissues, and inflammation. This is a hands-on laboratory position where the successful candidate will implement and apply molecular biology, biochemistry, and cellular immunology to elucidate disease pathways and validate therapeutic targets. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve research objectives.
Responsibilities
- Isolate immune cells for downstream analysis
- Perform cellular and molecular immunology techniques, including primary cell isolation from human blood, in vitro immunological assays, and multi-dimensional flow cytometry
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve research goals
Requirements
- PhD (or equivalent) in immunology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Creative problem-solving abilities
- Alignment with our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior and decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cell engineering (e.g., protein overexpression methods, CRISPR-mediated KO techniques)
- Hands-on experience collecting tissues from rodents (colon, spleen, lymph nodes, bone marrow)
- Analysis of data from single-cell or bulk RNA-seq
Schedule
- Fully onsite in South San Francisco, CA
- Monday through Friday, standard 8-hour shift (40 hours/week)
Interview Format
- Two rounds: Hiring Manager (30 minutes) and Panel (on-site, 60 minutes)
