Responsibilities
- Works under general supervision to conduct and monitor laboratory experiments using established and published procedures and technical/theoretical understanding.
- Makes recommendations to resolve problems encountered during experimental procedures.
- Ensures accuracy, quality, and timeliness of experimental results.
- Summarizes experimental results and reviews conclusions with supervisor or project leader.
- Communicates results through reports and presentations.
- Keeps supervisor/project leader informed of project status, particularly significant findings and critical problem areas.
- Performs work according to internal safety guidelines and external regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA).
- Analyzes experimental data using data analysis software or quantitative methods, forms conclusions, and documents process improvements.
- Produces reports and documents using technical writing skills; may present findings at internal meetings.
- Maintains electronic notebook documentation, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent recording of methods and results.
- Participates in routine lab maintenance, safety protocols, ISO, and QSR implementation.
- May troubleshoot instrumentation issues.
- Plans and executes own work with general instructions.
- Stays informed of trends and developments in area of scientific responsibility.
- May collaborate with individuals or teams outside of immediate functional area.
- Applies broad concepts of a specialization to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity.
- Analyzes alternative approaches to solve problems or develop new perspectives on existing solutions.
- May act as a lead for assigned projects or teams.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 5 years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
- Proficiency in designing and executing laboratory experimentation and determining next steps within project goals.
- Experience working with amino acids.
- Comfort discussing failures, lessons learned, and problem-solving approaches.
- DdPCR (Digital Droplet PCR) experience (required).
