About the role

The expanding In Vivo Tumor Biology group in Lake County, IL is hiring a motivated tumor biologist dedicated to discovering and developing innovative small-molecule and biologic therapeutics. The position will focus on tumor-targeting biologics including ADCs and T-cell engager (TCE) therapeutics in both immunocompromised and humanized mouse models. Our scientists collaborate with in vitro biology, translational/biomarker, and medicinal chemistry teams to advance oncology agents through the R&D pipeline. The position is within a dynamic, collaborative research team passionate about advancing novel science and improving patients' lives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Independently execute, monitor, and interpret in vivo mouse cancer studies (e.g. CDX, PDX, disseminated, syngeneic)
  • Evaluate novel cancer therapeutics in vivo through efficacy, PK, and tolerability studies
  • Collect and prepare tissue from in vivo tumor studies for PD analysis in downstream applications, including IHC, flow cytometry, and RNAseq
  • Identify, validate and utilize humanized mouse models to support Abbvie pipeline assets
  • Interpret results and draw conclusions from own multistage experiments and suggest, design, and pursue relevant experiments that further project goals
  • Perform routine and complex tasks competently and independently. May innovate new experimental protocols/techniques
  • Appetite for developing novel in vivo approaches and models to address complex biological questions
