Scientist - HPLC
Job Summary
In this vital role, you will apply your knowledge and skills to perform analytical development of late-stage biological therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing of routine and non-routine samples by various analytical methods used to characterize protein therapeutics including CE-SDS, cIEF/icIEF, HIC, SEC, IEX, RP, HILIC, and MS
- Data processing and analysis tools in Excel and other statistical software
- Recording data within an electronic lab notebook (ELN)
- Communication of data to the group and within group meetings
- Support of method development, qualification, release, and method transfer activities
- Working in a matrix environment, supporting both the project team and partner lines
Required Skills
- Advanced technical expertise in analytical methodologies used to characterize protein therapeutics, including CE-SDS, cIEF/icIEF, HIC, SEC, IEX, RP, and HILIC
- Experience with CE and LC instruments handling and troubleshooting
- Experience with CE and LC operation and data analysis software
- Working knowledge of data processing and analysis tools in Excel and other statistical software
- Ability to work in a matrix team environment and collaborate effectively
- Ability to independently prioritize, manage, and schedule multiple tasks to meet deliverables
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with electronic lab notebook (ELN)
- Separations science (HPLC/UPLC/UHPLC)
- Wet lab experience (weighing, pipetting, etc.)
- Method development and problem solving
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in mass spectrometry (MS)
Education Requirements
- Doctorate degree
- OR Master's degree and 2 years of experience
- OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience
Education Requirement: Degree in a scientific discipline required
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Experience Requirement: Wet lab experience required for candidates holding a bachelor's or master's degree (weighing, pipetting, etc.)
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
Full-time onsite position in Cambridge, MA — candidates must live within commuting distance to the site
Role requires physical wet lab work including weighing, pipetting, and hands-on instrument operation
