Responsibilities
- Formulate products to meet specified requirements
- Design and validate complex chemical studies and experiments
- Maintain a clean and functional laboratory environment
- Ensure compliance with laboratory, company, state, and federal safety regulations
- Support Technical Services requests and evaluate field complaints
- Communicate results within R&D, cross-functional departments, and Stage Gate Review meetings
- Organize and participate in field trials
- Interact with end-use customers and contractors to understand product usage and needs
- Assist and guide the production scale-up of new products
- Write batching formulas for the production department based on laboratory formulations
- Determine Quality Control parameters for product testing
- Design experiments for chemists, review data, and analyze results
- Document work continuously according to standard practice
- Summarize all project work in a formal end report
- Mentor and train new and junior team members
Qualifications
- BS in Chemistry, Material Science, Polymer Science, or relevant Engineering discipline
- MS preferred
- 8+ years of construction materials formulation experience
- Proven track record of successful New Product Development
- Experience with Production/Operations, Product Management, QC, ISO processes, Analytical Chemistry, Product Development, Finance, Accounting, and Marketing departments
- Familiarity with patent research, invention disclosures, and industry publications
- Strong analytical abilities, including experience with DOE and statistical methods
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
