Scientific Research Assistant - Temporary/Part-time (5710)

About the role

This position supports the day-to-day operations of a research lab that currently has only graduate students. Responsibilities include washing glassware, analyzing data, and managing lab supply inventory, enabling graduate students to focus on their coursework, dissertation projects, and publications. Delays in sterilized glassware, supplies, or data analysis can hinder manuscripts, external funding, and graduate student progress.

This position is on-site only.

Responsibilities

• Inventory of lab supplies
• Cutting and staining tissue samples
• Washing and autoclaving glassware

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a college student. If appointed during summer months, must provide transcript or grade slip verifying enrollment in the immediately preceding spring semester (student ID is not sufficient).
• Must have successfully completed at least 30 semester hours of college coursework, including at least one course in science or biology with related laboratory training.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
