Scientific AVP, Clinical Research, Oncology Early Development

For our client, we are seeking a Scientific AVP Clinical Research Oncology Early Development to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will support clinical priorities focused on quality, patient-centered outcomes, and effective care delivery. You will collaborate with clinical leaders, operational teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve standards, workflows, and execution. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen care quality, team performance, and measurable outcomes within a life sciences environment. Location: Rahway, NJ - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $342,800 – $539,600 annually Responsibilities Oversee development of early pipeline assets in various oncology modalities Develop and execute comprehensive clinical development plans and trial designs Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective trial execution Analyze patient data and optimize dosing and strategy for oncology compounds Mentor and manage clinical team members to enhance team performance Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies Conduct external outreach to augment expertise in drug development Qualifications MD or MD/PhD with oncology background 10+ years of industry experience with 5 years in oncology early development In-depth knowledge of Phase 1 clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements Strong scientific background in oncology drug development across multiple mechanisms Proven leadership skills in cross-functional settings Ability to manage and influence teams effectively Excellent oral and written communication skills Benefits Medical, dental, vision healthcare and other insurance benefits for employee and family Retirement benefits including 401(k) Paid holidays, vacation, compassionate and sick days Access to annual bonus and long-term incentive opportunities Comprehensive benefits package Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
