About the role

We are currently searching for a Computer Systems Analyst to independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute on Aging (NIA).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the lead developer, systems architect, and technical advisor for clinical research data collection, medical imaging, and scientific information management systems.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and maintains secure, scalable web-based applications, databases, and automated data processing solutions that support epidemiologic and clinical research studies.
  • Provides technical leadership, project management support, user training, and mentoring, to programming and technical staff while ensuring data integrity, system reliability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Independently develop innovative software solutions, automated workflows, and real-time data collection systems using modern programming languages, libraries, and best practices.
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle.
  • Develop custom applications and integrations that interface with commercial and custom research instruments and hardware.
  • Design and maintain medical imaging systems and automated data workflows using DICOM standards.
  • Create and support medical image analysis and evaluation portals for investigators and clinicians.
  • Ensure quality, integrity, and accessibility of medical imaging and laboratory data.
  • Design, implement, administer, and optimize relational databases and data storage architectures.
  • Develop data transfer, backup, replication, archival, and disaster recovery processes to safeguard research data.
  • Provide technical recommendations to investigators, physicians, technologists, and study staff regarding data collection, record management, and system utilization.
  • Identify emerging technologies and recommend enhancements that improve system performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Establish programming standards, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Perform quality assurance, quality control, validation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for applications, databases, and imaging systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, training materials, user guides, and system reports.
  • Ensure source code, version control, and system documentation support long-term maintainability.
  • Mentor and oversee programmers, computer support technicians, and other technical staff; Educate users on applications, reporting tools, and data management processes.
  • Provide end-user support, troubleshooting assistance, and technical training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least SIX (6) years of application development/ system administration experience.
  • Previously worked with medical imaging technologies, DICOM standards, and image management systems, such as Hologic, Toshiba, GE systems, etc.
  • Experience working with statistical data integration and reporting tools, such as SAS.
  • Database administration and system administration experience that includes activities such as programming, replication, networking, data security, backup and disaster recovery.
  • Previously worked with clinical research data systems, electronic data capture, and scientific computing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.

Qualifications

  • Fourteen (14) + years of experience is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in core project management functional concepts.
  • Experience in subject areas related to Automation, Scripting, Machine Learning, and High-Performance Computing strongly desired.
  • Exhibit technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with providing end user support training and support.
  • Able to lead web application development and full software development lifecycle management that could include tasks such as QA/QC and change control.

Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
