MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries Columbia Excel Center Team is seeking a seasoned teacher looking for another chance to truly change students’ lives. The ideal candidate is interested in serving adult learners who are earning their credit-bearing high school diploma (not a GED). Our students are motivated to put the past behind them and change their future for the better. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Educational Institution; Master's Degree preferred.
• Must be able to work with a diverse group of students, staff, and co-workers.
• Strong verbal and written skills with the knowledge of Missouri educational requirements to receive a high school diploma is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with nontraditional and/or adult learners is preferred.
• Current Missouri Teacher's Certificate in Science is required.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide a positive learning environment for adult learners.
• Develop and implement strategies, activities, and objectives for learners.
• Effectively facilitate a variety of differentiated learning opportunities including direct instruction, small group instruction, and cooperative learning.
• Provide visual, auditory, and hands-on learning activities that lead to required competencies (as outlined by the State of Missouri).
• Track each student's progress.
• Work as part of a team to support barrier removal for adult learners.
• Other duties as assigned.
