Job Profile Summary
Under the limited supervision of the Science Laboratory Manager, assists with the preparation, set up, break down, and clean-up of the biological science laboratories according to the type of lab activities and experiments performed using established procedures and in compliance with all safety regulations.
This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans’ Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295. About the Role
Assists with the preparation, set up, break down, and clean-up of the biological science laboratories according to the type of lab activities and experiments performed using established procedures and in compliance with all safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, sets up, breaks down, and cleans up the biological science laboratories according to the type of lab activities and experiments performed using established procedures and in compliance with all safety regulations.
- Performs routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory equipment as needed.
- Follows all safety protocols and ensures compliance with all safety regulations.
- Collaborates with other laboratory staff to ensure efficient operation of the laboratory.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Associate's degree.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Typically three or more years of functional experience in a science laboratory setting that includes hazardous material training.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

$36,800 - $43,240 (Salary commensurate with education and experience)
