About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Image Science Engineering to lead a team of engineers and scientists developing advanced image science and remote sensing solutions. In this leadership role, you will oversee technical execution, workforce planning, engineering excellence, and cross-functional collaboration while driving innovation and supporting multiple high-impact programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of image science engineers and scientists across multiple technical programs.
- Provide technical leadership for image science, remote sensing, image quality, calibration, and algorithm development activities.
- Partner with program leadership to align staffing, priorities, and engineering resources with business objectives.
- Conduct performance reviews, mentor team members, and support employee development and career growth.
- Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Contribute to proposal development, including technical planning, staffing strategies, and cost estimates.
- Support technical reviews, risk assessments, and corrective action activities.
- Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, operations, and program management teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, technical execution, and system performance.
- Manage departmental priorities, operational planning, and budget responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Imaging Science, Remote Sensing, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in image science, remote sensing, electro-optical or infrared systems, sensor technologies, or related technical fields.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, technical projects, or functional organizations.
- Strong understanding of image quality analysis, calibration, validation, image processing, or algorithm development.
- Able to manage multiple programs, technical priorities, and engineering resources.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering and program management teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with performance management, coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
