About the role
This position facilitates student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district-approved curriculum. It involves developing lesson plans, assessing student learning, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Develops and administers school high school curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods accordingly
- Instructs students in responsible citizenship and other specified subject matters
- Coordinates with other high school professional staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum
- Supervises students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day
- Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs
Requirements
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy
- Knowledge of high school curriculum and concepts
- Knowledge of data information systems and data analysis
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications
- Ability to organize and coordinate work
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
Qualifications
- Kansas State License in Science
- KS Certification - Secondary
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Master's Degree preferred
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred
