Position: Full-Time, 10-month, Exempt

About the Role

Responsible for providing learning experiences in the field of technology or information systems in the classroom and supervision of students in a supportive and positive climate. This role develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge aligned with school standards and expectations. Achieving academic excellence may require collaboration with other faculty, staff, and parents.

Reports to the Principal.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a part-time IT Help Desk analyst (if full-time employee).
  • Assist in building and maintaining the IT knowledge base, ensuring instructions are adequate and accurate.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development as needed and approved.
  • Attend IT Department, Faculty, and Information Technology advisory board meetings as needed.
  • Assist in the development of the IT budget.
  • Teach Technology/Computer-related courses according to school and diocesan curricula.
  • Model effective use of technology in the classroom and media center for teachers and students.
  • Oversee Web 2.0 technologies (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and other social media) if no Information Technology Coordinator or Director is present.
  • Provide school and community-wide resources on cyber-Christian living, internet safety, and technology utilization for students and parents if no Information Technology Coordinator or Director is present.
  • Coordinate/assist the School Principal, School Technology Coordinator, and/or Information Technology Director on Technology Education for students and curriculum integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, a teaching certificate, a technical degree with an education background, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment, and research related to learning.
  • Proficiency in using electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information literacy, visual and audio presentations, communication, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and keyboard skills.
  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and solve problems within the scope of provided authority.
  • Cordial and effective communication with priests, parents, students, faculty, vendors, committee members, officers of church councils, and Diocesan office personnel.
