School Speech-Language Pathologist - Brooklyn

About the role

Knowledge Road is hiring NYS‑licensed Speech‑Language Pathologists to work as school‑based speech therapists on a 1099 basis in Brooklyn. The company holds a New York City DOE contract to provide IEP‑ and IESP‑mandated services to students attending independent, parochial and charter schools across the borough, as well as some homeschooled students. These placements are not DOE public‑school positions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver speech‑language therapy aligned to each student's IEP or IESP goals
• Keep session notes and complete required documentation
• Complete progress reports as required
• Communicate with the school, the family and the student's team
• Attend IEP meetings for the students you work with

Requirements

• Current New York State license as a Speech‑Language Pathologist
• Availability to work in Brooklyn
• Not have been employed by the NYC Department of Education within the past year (special approval possible if you have)
• Willing to complete DOE clearance as part of onboarding

Pay

• 1 student: $75/hour
• 2 students: $95/hour
• 3 students: $110/hour
• 4 students: $130/hour
• 5‑8 students: $180/hour

Nearly all current cases are one‑to‑one. Sessions are submitted at the end of each month and paid by direct deposit, typically within about a week.

Schedule

• Workload is self‑directed: no minimum caseload, no exclusivity, and no cap on hours from the employer
• Most cases occur during the school day in Brooklyn schools, with some after‑school and occasional weekend sessions
• Availability of cases varies throughout the year; the company recruits year‑round and informs you of open cases when you apply
