About the role
Caseloads are different from public schools whereas they do lots of push in services, rather than 1 on 1; caseloads are higher end. Caseload can get to about 70 if they are in a crunch, or less if they are fully staffed.
Responsibilities
- Develop treatment plans, interventions, and/or educational materials for the purpose of meeting individualized student objectives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide Speech and language services to students with IEPs
- Supervise SLPAs with the implementation of speech and language services in the classroom, depending on caseload numbers
- Write and attend MET and IEP meetings as the SLP service coordinator
- Evaluate students in the area of speech and language as determined by the MET team
- Implement communication goals identified on student IEPs
- Consult with teachers, parents, other personnel, and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services, and/or making recommendations and/or referrals
- Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions
- Deliver services in a classroom integration model
- Coach classroom staff and SLPAs on the implementation of speech/communication goals
- Support staff and students with Augmentative Communication Devices
- Support classroom curriculum as it relates to language acquisition
- Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
- Maintain paperwork compliance
- Account for growth and proficiency in IEP goals
- Participate in annual and ongoing staff training
- Complete Medicaid billing
