About the role
The Main Street Academy is a school dedicated to fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports the holistic development of its students. We are currently seeking a qualified Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support system.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute valuable insights.
- Stay updated on current research and best practices in speech and language therapy.
- Work closely with other members of the special education team to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
- Attend internal and external meetings & trainings.
- Student data management via Infinite Campus and other software programs.
- Conduct & review evaluations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Certification/Licensure: Valid certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist.
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Patient, flexible, and a positive attitude.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.
