School Services - School Speech Language Pathologist - $53-55 per hour

About the role

iDEAL Hire is seeking a School Speech Language Pathologist for a local contract position in Houston, Texas. The role involves providing speech-language therapy services to students with communication disorders to help them succeed in their educational program.

Position details: 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts, starting 08/11/2026 for a duration of 42 weeks during the 2026/2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and provide therapy for students with speech/language disorders
• Develop and implement IEP goals and track student progress
• Participate in ARD meetings and collaborate with teachers and parents
• Provide training to school staff on communication strategies
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with state/federal guidelines
• Supervise SLP assistants when assigned

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Texas SLP License (TDLR)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• Open to Clinical Fellows
• 1+ year of supervised clinical experience

Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of assessment tools, therapy strategies, and behavior management
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines

Work Environment

• School-based setting with occasional travel
• Requires standing, sitting, and occasional lifting (up to 45 lbs.)
• Must handle interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress

Pay

Starting at $53–55 per hour.
