VyTalent Solutions is seeking an Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year in Willis, Texas.

About the role

This is a part-time, local contract position in a school-based setting, running for the 2026-2027 school year (52 weeks). The role involves 8 hours per week, with an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility evaluations to assess students' spatial awareness, travel skills, and environmental navigation.
• Provide direct instruction in safe, independent travel techniques across school, home, and community environments.
• Teach concepts related to spatial orientation, cane skills, route planning, and environmental cues tailored to visually impaired students.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) to support safe navigation and access within educational settings.
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to functional travel goal development, and maintain compliant progress reports.

Requirements

• ACVREP Orientation & Mobility Certification (COMS).
• Valid Texas state credentials.
• School-based experience preferred.
