About the role
The School Services School Special Education Teacher position is available for a local contract job in Tucson, Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to students with special needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement educational plans that meet the needs of students.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary to improve academic performance.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- A valid teaching license in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Proficiency in using technology tools for special education instruction.
