About the role
Bring your passion for helping students thrive to the classroom in Homer Glen, IL! Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized support, collaborate with educators, and help junior high students succeed during the 2026–2027 school year.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and co-teaching support to junior high students in inclusive general education science classrooms.
- Adapt curriculum, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials to support diverse learning needs and ensure access to grade-level content.
- Implement and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) accommodations, modifications, and support plans while collaborating with classroom teachers and school staff.
- Track student progress, maintain documentation, and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
- Experience supporting middle school students with disabilities in a special education or co-teaching environment preferred.
