Role Overview
Secondary Special Education Teacher – for 26-27 SY High School
We are seeking a special education teacher for Easton High School. This high school serves students in grades 9th-12th. This individual will provide services to students both inside the general education setting in more of a co-teaching role, as well as provide services outside the general education classroom based on areas of needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct/indirect instructional support in a positive, structured learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods (e.g., multi-sensory techniques, repetition) to meet diverse needs
- Develop and implement IEPs, collaborating with parents, administrators, and related service providers
- Modify curricula and employ assistive technologies to promote academic, social-emotional, and functional growth
- Teach socially acceptable behaviors using positive behavioral support systems
- Monitor progress and communicate regularly with families to align priorities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field
- Valid Maryland SPED Teaching License
