About the role
The Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center (EWCTC) is seeking a full‑time School Security Officer to support and implement emergency response and safety plans, maintain a positive, visible presence, and promote a secure learning environment through active patrol and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support and implement emergency response and safety plans.
- Maintain a positive, visible presence on campus.
- Promote a secure learning environment through active patrol and engagement.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Pennsylvania Municipal Police Academy with current Act 120 Certification or at least 3 years of law‑enforcement experience.
- License under 18 Pa.C.S. Ch. 16 (Uniform Firearms Act).
- Certification under Act 235 (Lethal Weapons Training Act).
- NASRO or PPCD‑approved equivalent certification (must be obtained immediately upon hire if not already held).
- Act 24, Act 34, Act 114, Act 151, and Act 168 clearances.
- Act 67 training required upon hire.
