About the role

The School Security Attendant I position involves performing campus supervision, observing and reporting on unusual student behavior, enforcing school rules, inspecting facilities, and assisting with various activities.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the school grounds during various times of the day to ensure safety and order.
• Monitors and reports on unusual student behavior and conducts discussions with students regarding their issues.
• Safeguards the safe and orderly movement of pedestrians and vehicles on and around the school premises.
• Enforces school rules and regulations, including prohibiting certain behaviors like smoking, gambling, fighting, vandalism, etc.
• Inspects and patrols playgrounds, bathrooms, assembly areas, and other facilities to identify potential safety and security hazards.
• Directs unauthorized individuals and drivers off the school premises and monitors non-student behavior.
• Assists teaching staff and others in handling disturbances and informs school administrators of critical situations requiring outside assistance.
• Activates alarms as necessary.
