About the role
The Oxford Hills School District seeks a School Psychologist to conduct PreK referral evaluations under the supervision of the Director of Student Services.
Responsibilities
- Conducts psychological assessments, testing, and diagnostic examinations of students to recommend courses of action or corrective procedures.
- Aids in the identification and placement of all types of exceptional students.
- Coordinates with administrators and teaching staff to assess individual student abilities and needs, including those with special needs.
- Attends Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed for students with special needs.
- Serves as a resource and consultant on mental health and child psychology, conducts in-service programs as requested.
- Continuously updates professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, and research.
- Maintains accurate and complete record-keeping and provides student information to colleges and employers as required by district procedures and laws.
- Encourages parental involvement and communicates effectively with students and parents.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate books, aids, and equipment, and maintains inventory records.
Requirements
- State Certification as a School Psychologist (#093).
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree in Psychology.
- PhD in Psychology preferred.
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
