School Psychologist - PreK

About the role

The Oxford Hills School District seeks a School Psychologist to conduct PreK referral evaluations under the supervision of the Director of Student Services.

Responsibilities

• Conducts psychological assessments, testing, and diagnostic examinations of students to recommend courses of action or corrective procedures.
• Aids in the identification and placement of all types of exceptional students.
• Coordinates with administrators and teaching staff to assess individual student abilities and needs, including those with special needs.
• Attends Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed for students with special needs.
• Serves as a resource and consultant on mental health and child psychology, conducts in-service programs as requested.
• Continuously updates professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, and research.
• Maintains accurate and complete record-keeping and provides student information to colleges and employers as required by district procedures and laws.
• Encourages parental involvement and communicates effectively with students and parents.
• Selects and requisitions appropriate books, aids, and equipment, and maintains inventory records.

Requirements

• State Certification as a School Psychologist (#093).
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Masters Degree in Psychology.
• PhD in Psychology preferred.
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
