PRIMARY PURPOSE
Aid schools in developing educational programs for students by conducting evaluations, providing counseling, and participating in ARD meetings.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree with Texas license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology
- Knowledge of assessment and intervention strategies
- Strong consultation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate computers and use various applications
- Ability to work with students, parents, and teachers
Major Responsibilities And Job Duties
- Select and administer assessments to evaluate students’ intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning
- Develop behavior management plans based on assessment data
- Generate psychological evaluation reports
- Participate in ARD Committee to assist with IEP development
- Communicate with parents about test results and student needs
- Provide counseling and psychological services to students
- Coordinate and maintain psychological services
- Compile, maintain, and file reports and records
- Comply with legal and district policies
- Maintain positive relationships with supervisors and colleagues
- Participate in professional development activities
- Use assessment data to improve professional skills
- Act ethically and professionally
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and community
- Involvement in district and special education program improvement

- Maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning under stress
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Analyze data for decision-making
- Frequent in-district travel
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours
