School Psychologist Minimum Requirements (Education/Experience):
- A degree from a specialist-level program of study (e.g., Ed.S., PsyS, CAGS, Master’s) from a National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) or American Psychological Association (APA) accredited or approved graduate training program in school psychology that includes:
- A minimum of sixty (60) semester hours of graduate credit in school psychology;
- Completion of a minimum of three (3) semester hours of supervised and sequenced practica experiences prior to the internship in paragraph (2)(c);
- Completion of a twelve-hundred (1200) hour, supervised internship with at least six-hundred (600) hours completed in an elementary or secondary school setting.
- Basic computer skills required (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email).
- Ability to regularly travel to school sites as needed to meet with and provide services to students and families.
- Eligible for Florida School Psychologist Certification or Florida school psychology licensure from the Department of Health as defined in Chapter 490 F.S., and Florida driver’s license.
Qualifications:
- School Psychologist Certificate or Florida school psychology licensure is required.
- This position is a part of a two-year grant.
- The purpose of this position is to provide additional support for CCPS Pre-K programs, particularly the Pre-K evaluation team assisting in child find, participating in evaluation results and IEP development and meetings.
- This position will be part of a team working with the existing Pre-K evaluation team members and will provide evaluation, consultation, and direct services.
- Experience working with Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten age children is preferred.
