About the role
The School Performance Data Manager at Ascend is responsible for managing day-to-day data and assessment operations, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and reliability. They also support cyclical data management and reporting processes as defined by the Director of School Performance & Analytics.
Responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day data and assessment operations, including monitoring Ascend’s assessment and grading systems, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and reliability
- Manages and supports data ticket requests with a high level of accuracy and responsiveness
- Gathers and analyzes basic data to support decision making, including identifying areas of risk or inefficiencies in assessment set up and grading completion
- Maintains and updates internal documentation, including training decks and user guides
- Trains schools and other network team members on our data and assessment platforms
- Supports cyclical data management and reporting processes as defined by the Director of School Performance & Analytics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-2 years of experience, preferably in an education or tech setting
- Experience with assessment and grading platforms, K-12 student information systems, or general data management systems
- Intermediate Google Sheets or Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Basic familiarity with SQL or Tableau helpful but not required

Pay
The salary will range between $70,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with level of experience. This is a full-time, exempt position that offers a comprehensive benefits package including:

Location & Work Arrangement
Based in our Brooklyn, NY office
Hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence at least three days per week
Occasional travel between schools to be expected
