About the role

The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at D’Youville University invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor of Biology. We seek student-centered educators who are passionate about teaching and committed to fostering student success. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate instruction in the biological sciences.

Responsibilities

• Teach a full-time course load across multiple biology subject areas and additional courses aligned with departmental needs.
• Create an inclusive, collaborative educational environment.
• Maintain regular office hours and accessible communication channels with students.
• Engage in departmental and university service, including committee participation and community engagement.
• Develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda, with opportunities to involve students.

Qualifications

• A terminal degree (Ph.D.) in a biological science discipline is required.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence at multiple levels of biology education.
• Experience teaching Human Anatomy & Physiology and/or Microbiology.
• Evidence of innovative, inclusive pedagogical approaches.
• Commitment to inclusivity and supporting student success.
