Biology Faculty
About the role
The Instructor of Biology reports to the Dean of Science and is responsible for teaching an average of 15 hours each semester of assigned courses, including biology and human anatomy and physiology, via on-ground, online, hybrid, or web-enhanced modalities. They also help develop and evaluate curriculum, provide academic advisement for students, and promote communication with transfer institutions, professional associations, and other external constituents to support student success.
Responsibilities
- Complete all required reports such as attendance and grade submissions.
- Complete annual performance review and maintain related records.
- Teach assigned courses via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities.
- Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as assigned.
- Develop curriculum, evaluate, and review departmental courses.
- Promote communication with transfer institutions, professional associations, and other external constituents to support student success.
- Evaluate and monitor progress to achieve individual and unit goals and objectives.
- Maintain effective interaction with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Biology or Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Biology from an accredited institution.
- One year of experience teaching biology lectures and/or labs at the secondary or post-secondary level.
Qualifications
- Experience with curriculum and/or course development.
- Teaching experience with technology including online instructional tools and mobile devices.
- Qualified to teach a variety of biology, science, and/or health courses.
- Conversational ability or fluency in a second language.
Skills
- Technology Skills: MS Office skills, Word, Excel, Outlook; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems.
- Ability to work with student populations who represent a wide range of academic abilities.

Pay
Annual salary dependent on experience for candidates with a master’s degree: $46,502 - $58,128
Annual salary dependent on experience for candidates with a PhD: $52,734 - $65,917
Schedule
Contract will begin August of 2026
