Biology Faculty

About the role

This position focuses on, but is not limited to, plant biodiversity, animal biodiversity, field biology, comparative anatomy & physiology, and ecology. A candidate with a Ph.D. in an organismal biology field or related disciplines, such as veterinary medicine, horticultural science, or ecology, is desired.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring and advising students in the biological sciences who are interested in veterinary school, zoology, and wildlife biology
• Teaching biology courses related to area(s) of expertise
• Teaching other assigned courses and labs in general biology topics

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills
• Commitment to developing a conceptual and principle-based approach to teaching
• Commitment to a biblically consistent view of science, as articulated in the philosophy statement of the BJU Division of Natural Science
• Exemplification of a biblical role model for students and colleagues
• Willingness to attend the Summer Institute in Teaching Science, an on-site professional development program
• College classroom teaching experience preferred

Qualifications

• Must be a born-again Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Must agree with and affirm the Bob Jones University creed, mission, and core biblical doctrines
• Must be committed to providing students an excellent, world-class education from a biblical worldview
