School Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide experiences and supervision of assigned students in a safe, supportive, and positive therapeutic environment.
• Develop in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed their assigned goals and objectives.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with parents to achieve excellence in therapy delivery.
• Use data to drive therapy sessions and IEP goals and objectives, prepare progress reports, and address the needs of diverse learners through leadership and professionalism.
• May be required to work at multiple locations on our campuses.

Requirements

• Hold a New Jersey Department of Education certification as a School Occupational Therapist.
• Have at least two years previous school/pediatric OT experience.
• Possess preferably experience working with special education students.
• Show knowledge and understanding of effective occupational therapy techniques and strategies.
• Show enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
