School Nutrition Program Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, food service management, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) approval or eligible to obtain.
  • Proven track record of a strong commitment to Child Nutrition programs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Prepares and administers the departmental budget.
  • Purchases and maintains an inventory of all foods, supplies, and equipment.
  • Plans and supervises the preparation and serving of menus at all schools.
  • Inspects school lunch facilities and operations to ensure that standards of diet, cleanliness, health, and safety are being maintained.
  • Reviews and evaluates all requests and recommendations for the purchase of new and replacement equipment.
  • Administers personnel policies and evaluates all cafeteria personnel.
  • Interviews, screens, and recommends the appointment of all cafeteria personnel.
  • Checks all bills and purchase orders for accuracy before presenting them to the business manager for payment.
  • Applies for and monitors all federal funding applications.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
