Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director/Principal, the School Nurse plans and provides certain identified health services in connection with ACOE’s Early Intervention Infant Program for infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays. This position will also provide IEP-related School Nursing supports for secondary students at Community Schools and AOA sites. One position available: 1.0 FTE OR .50 FTE

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid California School Nurse Services Credential or be eligible for a Preliminary School Nurse Services Credential at time of hire. * (required)
• Valid Registered Nurse in the State of California (required)
• B.A. or B.S degree from an accredited college or university (required)
• Master’s Degree in Science Nursing or related health field (preferred)
• Experience working with infants/toddlers with special needs
• Experience working with Newcomer students and diverse families
• Public Health Nurse Certificate (required or willing to Obtain)
• California School Audiometrist Certificate (required or willing to Obtain)
• Valid CPR & 1st Aid Certification (required)
• Valid State of California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record (required)
• *Complete within five calendar years, commission approved school nurse program to obtain School Nurse Services Credential.
• Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, Tuberculosis Clearance
