School Nurse - LPN or RN

Responsibilities

• Schedule / Shift: School-day schedule, Monday–Friday; Hours per week: Full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities available; Contract length: School-based assignment
• Key Duties:
  • Provide direct nursing care and health support services to students with special healthcare needs
  • Support students requiring ventilators, tracheostomy care, diabetes management, catheterization, and tube feedings
  • Maintain accurate health documentation and comply with district and state nursing standards
  • Monitor student health status and respond appropriately to medical needs during the school day
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support student well-being and safety
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and additional duties as assigned
  • Support a safe and inclusive educational environment for all students

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Licenses & Certifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license; Required: CPR Certification
• Additional certifications: Current Physical within the last year; Current PPD within the last year (Chest X-Ray acceptable if positive)

Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Ability to care for students with complex medical and special healthcare needs
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively within a school-based environment
• Ability to meet fingerprinting and district clearance requirements
