Responsibilities

  • Provide basic nursing care, first aid, and health support to students during the school day
  • Administer medications and document care according to physician orders and school policies
  • Monitor students with chronic conditions and report changes in health status to the Certified School Nurse
  • Support staff with student health needs and communicate effectively with families when appropriate
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant health office environment

Requirements

  • Current Virginia license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing nursing services to children
  • Knowledge of medical disorders, treatment procedures, medication administration, and infection control
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to school health services
  • Strong communication, documentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with students, families, staff, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license

Qualifications
