School Nurse (Full-Time)

About the role

This position involves providing one-on-one nursing care during student transportation for medically fragile students, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout each route. The role combines nursing expertise with a predictable school-based schedule, supporting students with complex medical needs such as tracheostomies, G-tubes, and seizure management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students during transportation and respond to changing conditions according to care plans
• Administer treatments like tracheostomy care, G-tube feedings, and seizure management
• Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and clinical teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with protocols

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license
• Current BLS certification and health certificate
• Experience with pediatric nursing, trach care, or enteral feeding preferred
• Ability to follow detailed care plans and communicate effectively
