Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with personal care tasks
- Making sure to monitor and record vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure)
- Administering medications and treatments as directed and trained by the school nurse
- Collaborating and communicating with the school nurse, teachers, and other staff to ensure student well-being
- Communicating observations and concerns to the school nurse and Head of School
- Participating in team meetings and staff training
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and adequately stocked health office
- Adhering to school policies and procedures related to health and safety
- Assisting with scheduling student appointments with the school nurse and external healthcare providers
- Maintaining accurate records of student health information
- Assisting in health lessons as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree preferred
- Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification in New Hampshire
- Experience working with children in a healthcare or school setting is preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- CPR and First Aid certification are required
