School Nurse Assistant (Part-Time)

About the role

This health position provides support of health service programs provided at schools. The employee assists the Registered Nurse in a high school clinic, working under the RN’s direction and supervision. Duties include performing basic first aid, assisting with maintenance of health records, and related clinic duties.

Responsibilities

• Check temperatures and render limited first aid.
• Assist with screening procedures.
• Maintain immunization records and inform appropriate officials of deficits.
• Help aides learn how to organize their clinics and familiarize them with appropriate documentation procedures.
• Assist the Registered Nurse with documentation of clinic visits and care provided daily.
• Administer medication appropriately per the School District's medication policy and document it.
• Perform related work as assigned by the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and experience in providing nurse assistant services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of basic health practices.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with students requiring health assistance.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Pay

Salary Range: $22.47 – $23.87 per hour (Universal/Scale B.1 - Non-Exempt Level 4).

Schedule

10 months, 195 days, 3.75 hours per day.
