School Nurse Assistant

About the role

This position provides support for health service programs in school clinics, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role involves assisting with basic first aid, health record maintenance, and other clinic duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Checks temperatures and renders limited first aid.
• Assists with screening procedures.
• Helps maintain immunization records and informs officials of deficits.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with organizing clinics and learning documentation procedures.
• Documents clinic visits and care provided daily.
• Administers medication per the School District's policy and documents accordingly.
• Performs related work as assigned by the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school and experience in providing nurse assistant services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of basic health practices.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with students requiring health assistance.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Schedule

10 months, 195 days per year, 7 hours per day. This position is split between two locations:

• 3.5 hours at Belmont Station
• 3.5 hours at Harper Park

Pay

Salary range: $22.47 - $23.87 per hour (Universal/Scale B.1 - Non-Exempt Level 4). View full salary scale.
