Responsibilities
- Perform an environmental and safety assessment upon entry to the community or residential setting where visit is to take place
- Assess for SI and develop safety plan if necessary
- Assess client and develop diagnostic impression
- Develop a treatment plan collaboratively with client, family, guidance counselor and outpatient provider based on identified client needs
- Utilize crisis intervention skills when necessary
- Build rapport with a wide variety of clients and work from a culturally competent perspective
- Identify need for medical and/or substance abuse treatment and make appropriate referrals
- Implement brief therapeutic strategies that are effective in reducing client’s mental health symptoms
- Work with families and involved persons to de-escalate the situation, make a crisis plan, and enlist cooperation with recommended treatment
- Set short-term and measurable goals
- Demonstrate capacity to work with a wide range of clients; child and adolescent, adult, dual diagnosis and geriatric
- Complete all documentation in a timely manner using EMR
- Participate in all required trainings
- Absorb all federal, state and local confidentiality regulations
- Comply with all mandatory reporting, including duty to warn and child abuse/neglect referrals
- Comply with all of programs contractual and operational guidelines as outlined by your manager
- Check work e-mail according to agency protocol
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field of study
- Two to three years of commensurate experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree if currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program
- Collaborative and positive regarding working with law enforcement business partners
- Excellent client/patient service skills with the ability and desire to comply with the rules and regulations of those organizations to which we are accountable
- Ability to load up to 50 pounds from office to vehicle to training location at times
- Valid driver's license with proof of insurance and no more than 3 points
