About the role

This position supports the school's instructional and operational needs as a Para-Professional/Aide/Assistant at Eldorado High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing instructional programs and classroom activities
• Provide support to students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts
• Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe, orderly learning environment
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays as directed
• Assist with record-keeping, grading, and documentation of student progress
• Support students with special needs, including physical and behavioral assistance as required
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods
• Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, and data entry
• Communicate with teachers, staff, and parents regarding student progress and concerns
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of at least 48 college credit hours from an accredited institution, OR
• Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or equivalent state-approved competency test
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada State Paraprofessional license
• Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire
