School Dishwasher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher to join our culinary team in an elementary school environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is essential to the overall success of our food service operations. Must enjoy working with children and must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including chopping vegetables and assembling ingredients
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of clean items for cooking and serving
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Proficiency in English (required)
• Day shift availability (required)
• Previous experience in a school setting with children is preferred but not necessary
• Familiarity with food handling practices and sanitation standards
• Experience in food preparation or cooking is a plus
• Knowledge of banquet service operations is advantageous
• Strong cleaning skills with attention to detail in maintaining kitchen hygiene
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with team members
