About the role
Serve as the instructional leader of the school, ensuring high-quality teaching, curriculum, and student outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the school's daily operations using a hands-on, data-driven approach
- Hire, develop, and coach teachers and staff to build a high-performing team
- Partner with the Chief of Mission and Marketing on student and staff recruitment, enrollment, and community engagement
- Collaborate with Goodwill's Finance, Marketing, IT, Legal, and Human Resources teams to support school operations
- Drive toward closing achievement gaps and graduating 100% of eligible students annually
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 5 or more years in a school-related leadership role
- South Carolina Principal or Administrator certification
- Experience driving academic results in South Carolina
- Proven success in developing teachers and building high-performing teams
- Working knowledge of all areas of school operations, including instruction, special education, coaching, college and career readiness, data, and enrollment
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Charleston-area labor market conditions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems
- Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Qualifications
- Experience leading adult education programs
- Understanding of South Carolina educational policies and standards
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and best practices
